I gotta admit this is entertaining. In elections past, we would have been finding ways to justify accepting the Romney's Dole's, and Busch's coronations by this point in the nomination process.

I just don't see this plan working very well. The people who really support Kasich probably have used the hashtags "#nevertrump" or "#nevercruz" many times. For them to actually do it I think they'd have to have some kind of belief that Cruz will pick Kasich as a running mate.

Might have worked if they announced it weeks ago. Not everyone is going to get the memo in a week's time.

Except neither Kasich nor Cruz, as far as I know, has actually asked voters to vote for their competition. They've simply asked their "allies" to "follow their lead" in the strategy to focus on separate states.

(IANAL, but I could imagine that there might be campaign finance implications for raising/expending funds to campaign in a state, and then telling voters to vote for someone else, without actually ending a campaign and endorsing said, other candidate.)

You're right - If I had hastags, those would be it.

So you believed Trump when he raised the Bible high and declared that it was his favorite book?

I was so pissed off this morning when I heard an add for Trump on my favorite Christian radio station this morning. :xmad:

We all know what his favorite book is.

I could see that being a default answer for a lot of people. A man of the Christian faith ought to believe it is.

The obvious context was that Trump was playing a part to woo evangelicals. Isn't that one of the steps in the art of the deal? Make people think you're on their side, that you're one of them. Now no casual observer objectively believes Trump ever opens the bible much less believes it's his favorite book.

When it's time to close the deal with the Hillary voters, when he tries to convince them that he's one of them, will you still like THAT Trump?

You're right - If I had hastags, those would be it.

I can see the problem as I'm sure "hastags" are very difficult to find. Because of their rarity, if you find some, do you mind sharing? I could probably find some use for hastags.

Assuming it is a plan, and not just puffing up necessity into a virtue. Campaigns always triage their ad-buys as voting deadlines near. This way sounds like they're doing something competent and intentional, as opposed to just having the media report "The Kasich and Cruz campaigns each conceded they have no chance of winning several states today, canceling ad buys in XXX, YYY, and ZZZ."

I mean, really. We're one week out. Oregon and N.M. are Democrat communes - not exactly Cruz country (I'm sure the folks in the gubmint labs in the desert were huge sequester fans). And once you pass Richmond on I70 West, nobody knows who Kasich is. Call me cynical, but they were always going to pull these ad buys.

Well, this is interesting. WTHR notification suggests Bobby Knight might be making a return to Indiana to endorse Trump.

That'll make for interesting inter-generational conversations.

Well, that explains why my mom is voting for Cruz. She went to Purdue.
