    I must confess that if Indiana's results make Trump unstoppable the schadenfreude would be delicious indeed

    I do not think that will happen. California might do it, but it won't be Indiana (barring some YUGE surprise). As I stated upthread, Trump can win Indiana 40-25 and still only get a contested convention. The poll suggests he isn't ahead by that much.

    Well, at least one of the republican candidates can tell the truth when it comes to voter disenfranchisement. Kasich was upfront about his reasons for denying the 700,000 residents of Washington, DC their Rights as American citizens to equal representation in Congress. He doesn't want them to be granted voting Rights because they might vote for the democrats. At least the scumbag is honest in his ways. This is the same douchebag that spent over $500,000 in Ohio to keep the Libertarian party off the ballot in Ohio. At least we can rest assured that he won't get anywhere near the White House.

    No sympathy here for the maltreated/disenfranchised residents of DC. It was no secret from the beginning that the District of Columbia would be as it is, so these people have had over 200 years to move 5.1 miles to escape its borders and be citizens of a state rather than a federal district which does not have congressional representation.

    Siding With Trump Is The End Of The Conservative Movement

    Oh, the humanity! A virtual epidemic of the vapors!

    Bye

    If the "Conservative Movement" can be torn asunder so easily by a blowhard, it's doubtful that it was the blowhard's doing.

    In a way it reminds me of the redefining of marriage. They coopted the definition of conservative a few decades ago, to any GOPer. Every Republican claimed to be a "principled conservative" and no one seemed to challenge the assertion any more.

    “The Sharon Statement”
    [/h]
    Adopted in conference at Sharon, Connecticut, September 11, 1960

    In this time of moral and political crises, it is the responsibility of the youth of America to affirm certain eternal truths.
    We, as young conservatives, believe:
    That foremost among the transcendent values is the individual’s use of his God-given free will, whence derives his right to be free from the restrictions of arbitrary force;
    That liberty is indivisible, and that political freedom cannot long exist without economic freedom;
    That the purpose of government is to protect those freedoms through the preservation of internal order, the provision of national defense, and the administration of justice;
    That when government ventures beyond these rightful functions, it accumulates power, which tends to diminish order and liberty;
    That the Constitution of the United States is the best arrangement yet devised for empowering government to fulfill its proper role, while restraining it from the concentration and abuse of power;
    That the genius of the Constitution—the division of powers—is summed up in the clause that reserves primacy to the several states, or to the people, in those spheres not specifically delegated to the Federal government;
    That the market economy, allocating resources by the free play of supply and demand, is the single economic system compatible with the requirements of personal freedom and constitutional government, and that it is at the same time the most productive supplier of human needs;
    That when government interferes with the work of the market economy, it tends to reduce the moral and physical strength of the nation; that when it takes from one man to bestow on another, it diminishes the incentive of the first, the integrity of the second, and the moral autonomy of both;
    That we will be free only so long as the national sovereignty of the United States is secure; that history shows periods of freedom are rare, and can exist only when free citizens concertedly defend their rights against all enemies;
    That the forces of international Communism are, at present, the greatest single threat to these liberties;
    That the United States should stress victory over, rather than coexistence with, this menace; and
    That American foreign policy must be judged by this criterion: does it serve the just interests of the United States?

    When you're Ted Cruz, you lie. It's what you do:

    Ted Cruz wins almost all of Maine's delegates - CNNPolitics.com

    Ahead of the vote, LePage accused the Cruz campaign of going back on a promise to back a "unity slate" of the state's delegates, a move he portrayed as "stabbing us in the back."

    In a statement, LePage said, "We reached a deal with Cruz's national campaign to put up a unity slate that would honor the wishes of the thousands of Mainers who voted at caucus. But Cruz's Northeast Political Director David Sawyer lied to us and broke the deal. Sawyer stabbed us in the back, reneged on the unity slate, and betrayed the people of Maine."

    (I'll yield the balance of my time to the Cruz apologists, who will no doubt find some excuse to rationalize.)
