Had a guy post a ton of one word responses, even after having those posts removed. He got locked out of the classifieds for 30 days for his refusal to follow the rules. Here is his response:

Your rule #1 is "Don't be a jerk". Well to be completely forthcoming, I think you are being a jerk. I spent 10-15 minutes reading through that thread before making my post of "really cool". I followed the original poster's links to other forums, etc. I was engaged and spent a lot of time reading it. Upon finishing, I could have written a long-winded, yet just as meaningless reply. Or I could have written a controversial essay pointing out how meaningless a 1/2 scale AR might be. I suppose either of those things are acceptable.

You have imposed a restriction to any new member that they must have 50 posts before they can participate in the classifieds. I get that you don't want people coming for 1 visit and that's it. That's not my intention. I recently heard about the forum and I'm an avid gun guy, competitive shooter, reloader, and I think decent human being. I spent over 2 hours reading posts today and I feel like if I read the entire post, or at least a page or two of post and comments, I am meeting your requirement of participation.

For you to just ban me without knowing how much I'm reading or how much I'm participating is heavy-handed and is preventing participation from good people with good intentions. Tell you what, I survived just fine before knowing about this site, I'll survive just fine without it in the future.

Merry Christmas to you, in spite of your narrow-minded, and ill-informed decisions.

I guess he thinks the form should be on the honor system? Rude awakening time. Reading is not participating :-(. What he might think is a meaning less comment might turn out to be informative. Post and find out. It's not that hard to make 50 informative posts. The fellow needs to learn we all learn from each other. If he doesn't post we don't learn anything about him nor do we learn any from him.

You did the right thing VUP.
