I should make some tea and put some of my garlic honey in it with a shot of whiskey...that sounds like a good combo.

    Hi Mom45

    It works for me.

The Zicam I take at the first sign of a cold, it only works at this point.

The garlic honey is upstairs and the whiskey is down here...maybe I should just go with the shot and skip the rest for now.

I grow my own garlic rk. When I dig it, i peel a bunch of cloves and put them in a jar...cover with honey and leave it on the counter. The jar I have in the kitchen has been there for a couple of years. I just add more honey as I use it and a bit more garlic when I think about it. I use it in cooking, in my homemade bread instead of sugar, etc. It is good for colds as well.

The rest of the garlic cloves that I peel go into jars and get covered with olive oil and frozen. I keep one jar in the fridge and just put it thru the garlic press into whatever I am cooking.

We like garlic everything around here. Hubby can't handle store bought garlic...gives him horrible indigestion. My garlic I grow doesn't affect him at all so it has to be something they treat it with to keep it from sprouting.

That might be the problem with me and garlic.

Most of the garlic in the stores is grown in China so it is hard to know what they might fertilize it with or spray on it. I do know it won't grow if you plant it so it has to be sprayed with something to prevent sprouting in the store.
