Mom45, you Cat storys remind me of growing up on the farm. We had barn cats that behaved like many of you cats. Our "Barney" was Sam the tomcat. He would come & go as he pleased and we could go months without seeing him, then one morning her would show up on our porch like nothing happened.

I'm glad there are people who can get joy from cats. Whether it is my own failing or not, I will likely never be one of them. My dog is whining at the door right now though because my wife is usually never out this late and he knows it.

He started out here as a kitten that wandered in with half his face missing. He had to have tangled with a coon or something. Another stray had arrived a day before him and that one sort of adopted him...cleaned his face all the time and they slept together. The other one got tame but Barney never did. He used to be gone just in the summer. Then the one fall he never came back and was gone for a year before showing up again. He was here briefly in the fall and was sitting at the door this morning waiting for breakfast. I just feed whoever is here...kind of like I do with the people who show up at dinner time!

You just haven't me the right cats! LOL! I like pretty much all animals. Growing up on a farm does that to ya...you either love them or hate them.
