JD I would like to be in front of a fire. But, I'm nice and dry.
Do you wear anything special for diving at this temp?

I wear a wetsuit that is 7mm thick on my arms/legs and 14mm on my core with 5mm boots, gloves, and a hood. It keeps you warm enough to not get hypothermia if you keep moving.

If you enjoy it that is great, but I think I'll stay by the fire.
Why is it that you like to ice drive?

I haven't gone ice diving before, but I hope to this year. In most bodies of water with little movement, like quarries, the water is cold all year long. At certain depths, there are thermoclines. A thermocline is a depth where the water suddenly changes temperatures. The water temp can drop by as much as 20 degrees at each thermocline. Below 80 feet, most quarries in the mid-west are around 40 degrees or less. Ice diving wouldn't really be much colder than diving deep in July around here. During the winter there is usually less algae, so the water clarity is much better. Below are a couple of pictures of what I typically wear in cold water. My mobility is impaired with so much neoprene, but it does help with the cold. (other than my exposed face)

I've shoot the 30 and handles nice. Looks like it should carry well.

I've yet to see the new 30S in person. We get a lot of customers asking for it though. It appears to simply be a thinner version of the Glock 30. I used to have a Glock 19, so I think that it will be similarly sized.
