The news about my wife's van didn't turn out so well. At least its fixable and we could have it back as soon as tomorrow afternoon.

Well that's good...kinda. Wanna laugh at me? I'm waiting for a call from my other half. Apparently there is (or was) a vehicle fire on 70 and he's stuck in stopped traffic with a low fuel light....and zero money. I have a feeling I will have to make a gas run soon. Does my predicament make you feel better?

Yep. He just went out there and picked it up....which is why he is stuck in traffic way out there with no gas

What was wrong, if I may ask?

Its getting the transmission replaced with a good used one. Its also getting new wheel hubs and bearings, new tie rod ends, alignment, tire rotation and some minor exhaust work. Its gonna cost me about $2200 but at least I get a 6 month parts and labor warranty on everything including the used transmission. I couldn't come close to replacing that vehicle for that kind of money so fixing it seems to be the best option.

What happened to having emergency cash in your sock and always keeping the gaz tank at least halfway full?

At least now he can call you to tell you he's stuck in traffic.

That's not a predicament. That's an inconvenience. Still a PITA though.

That's a good deal. It cost me that much to have the tranny rebuilt on my wifes minivan 5 years ago. (97 Dodge Grand caravan)
