    Benny, if you had an MSDN subscription you could get the media for free. Not sure where you'd be able to without one though.

    I think CDW and those places sell just the media without a license for like $5

    Thanks...I think I found a free trial, so I'm going to see if that works.

    I'm pretty sure I can call dell and they will send me one for free...I have before.

    i dunno what happened, anyway that product code will only work with the correct version. i.e. id you bought vista home premium with SP 1 then it will ony work if you download vista home premium with sp 1, then you have to spend a week updating it

    Damn, I guess I need to be specific when I look for it.

    that has been my experience when trying to use product codes universally among the different service packs

    I'm pretty sure the computer was purchased new from Dell(online ordering) in early 2009...Would anyone have the slightest clue as to which Windows Vista Home Premium OEM Edition SP that would be?
