    Way cool Westside.

Is that the range that has a list of approved calibers? If so, why is that?
Marion county fish and game (MCFG - Indy Range Official Website - Shotgun, Pistol, Shooting Range) is the range really close to there with the approved caliber list.

Eagle creek is a pistol only range. anything they make in a pistol version you can shoot there. They rule we were trained to was it is RO's best judgment on allowed calibers when it comes to actual "rifles" as defined by law.

yeah, but I don't really want to build my first AR I want to buy a complete rifle.

You should build it, because you'll know more about it. Buy good quality parts and you won't have an issue. And knowing how everything goes together will make it easier to troubleshoot if you ever have to tear it down at all.

I want to be able to treat my rifle like a do my lawn mower. Pull it out, gas it up, run it hard for a couple of hours, give it a quick dust off and put it away. Lower end AR's can't really be run like that.
