I've never shot it with steel core...

But I've shot it with everything from .22LR all the way up to .50 BMG....

Mosin ammo if you hit it RIGHT on the side of the target will nick it a little bit, but even then, not much. And it was at around 80ish yards.

Wow, If it handled .50 BMG with no problem, I bet steel core 7.62 wouldn't even phase it!

I dunno... The Pb/Cu splatters on impact because it's soft. Even if there's a lot of it. I think steel core would hurt it pretty bad. :dunno:

It's not cheap, so I'm not gonna try it. The targets will last damn near forever with regular ammo though so it's worth the cost.

Very true, last spring my boss picked up some new steel targets and one of the other guys I work with shot the **** out of it with some steel core ammo (at least 2 or 3 mags through his new AK).

Boss noticed that the "ping" didn't sound right and he LOST HIS MIND when we walked down range and saw his new Swiss chessed steel targets...

Best thing about Bobcat is Kimball will cut you whatever you want.

I have a couple of new ones to paint for myself this week. They're awesome.

What would you get in a steel target?

I wouldn't need anything too much... I would prolly shoot mostly .223 and occasionally .308.... but, if you are telling me that they will cut anything I want.... that's something to think about...
