Tested some AR500 today. .223 at less than 15 yards. All I can say is wow...

Was it Bobcat steel? That's all I shoot.

In fact I've been up in my art studio painting some AR500 for IJ.

Yup it was. Interesting stuff. I tried drilling and tapping it. Didn't work out so well...

I have a lot of Bobcat steel. Good stuff. I've hit it with just about any caliber you can imagine, it's still in great condition.

The harder stuff will just barely scratch the surface. The bolts and chain that I used to hold it up didn't hold up as well though.

Have you ever shot it with steel core stuff? 7.62X39 or larger...

I got to hand out some reppage.

Yeah, it barely got a nick when I shot it. I built target holders out of it, just to hold card board. Mild steel didn't hold up too well.

jclark had a nice steel target that we shot a couple of weeks ago. My .308 barely scratched it.
