I'll let my friend Neil Keller have at the second one. He builds the greatest stuff. He's not fast, and sort of grumpy, but I like him. He has always done me right.

You need to meet this man. You 2 would get along right off the bat. I was at his shop one afternoon, someone had just dropped off an AR for him to work on. Said the stupid sob took it to another smith after he told him not to. Said he was going to charge him double for not listening, and having to go in after someone else.

I do the same thing on every project I work on. If you ask me advice and do not follow it over a few dollars and it ends up back on my bench you get charged for "All" the time I have invested.

That's fair. Their LPK may need some love...mine is a bit gritty

I'd say its a good deal considering the BCG, Barrel and Upper receiver alone typically will run you more than $399.

Yeah but they suck as help.........Oh look....shiny.......

I am sure its a pleasant distraction from the work though.

I'm still debating on what to do with mine...

I'm working on a 14.5'' LW build right now, going to pin the muzzle device so I don't have to form it. I need to get the handguard ordered, but IRC is a couple weeks away, can't spend $$ on it just yet.

I think that is completely fair. They asked you, you told them what it would take. They tried to spend less thinking you didn't know what you are talking about or overcharging. Now they're back to you wanting you to not only do what you originally set out to do, but undo all the other mistakes somebody else made. Perfectly fair and reasonable.
