so my homes floor plan is wide open living, dinning, kitchen.
I am sitting in the living room and I hear the floor creak in the dinning room (hardwood flooring throughout) and then I hear a male sigh. I look up from my computer and not a living soul is there.

I am a bit creeped out. Now the dog is growling, I did get up to check my bedroom and bathroom, it's the only rooms I can't see from here.
