    Hubby said he heard some the other day. That is a sure sign of spring, right?



    I made carrot cake last week but that is long gone. Hubby bought donuts this morning so I guess I could have one of those. I think there is a cherry tart in there for me. Maybe I'll make that cake tomorrow. I got bread made today but was busy cleaning and doing laundry so didn't do any other baking.

    :rockwoot:
    2 cups flour
    2 eggs
    2 cups sugar
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 can crushed pineapple

    Mix, beat 2 minutes, place in greased and floured 9x13 pan.

    Bake 40 to 45 minutes

    Cream Cheese Icing

    8 ounces cream cheese
    1 stick butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 cups powdered sugar
    Bet 2 minutes, spread on cake while still hot
    thx, saved to my sticky notes until later

    Not sure. They don't give exact measurements on much of anything. We think the were just reminder notes of which ingredients were used. Fired chicken ones, homemade noodles, etc.

    I have seen a few of those in my travels that can't really be said to be actual recipes. Incidentally, looking over some colonial-era recipes, I had to do a little research to find out what a 'gill of milk' is, which turned out to be a quarter of a pint.

    Interesting. If granny were alive today she would something like 112. I know my brother has some of her and my other granny's recipes. They might be more accurate. He probably figured that he would give me the notes because I burn **** and cant follow directions :laugh6:
