yes and yes. full length gas piston with a 2-position gas valve

The draw back is it's not very AR friendly with after market parts. I want a full length quad rail but choices are very limited and expensive.

Wow....he does look like a character. Kind of like speedo man that lives in Plymouth. He is in his 80's...heard he was out getting his mail the other day in his speedo and flip flops.

That's always been the problem with some of the Sig guns, too much proprietary stuff. But I still want one.

The gun in my avatar is all quad rail, and it's never had anything other than a red dot. It is a monolithic upper and it's so heavy, I couldn't imagine putting anymore weight in it.
