We didn't have a scale that went over 300 pounds so I don't know. That's the second buck like that I've shot here in 3 years. Both had plenty of body fat in addition to being well muscled, back straps were as big around as my forearm.

It was definitely a monster.

When he said over 300, I had to re-read that. We have never had one weigh in close to that. We always field dress them before weighing, but the last one we weighed that was probably one of the biggest taken here was right at 185.

I saw that one in the other thread. He looked heavy to me too. We have a few still around with decent antlers, but haven't seen any big bodied bucks all year.

I am adding a bull barrel TRP to the safe on Sunday and the funds will come in handy. I have a deal on it I think and I get to keep the optic. It will look good on the .223 bolt gun I am working on getting.
