Okay, question for the group. 1st rifle when the safe door opens is my iron sited AR-15. Home defence gun. Loaded, bolt closed with safety on??? Mag in and bolt locked back with safety off??? Mag in, but charging handle needing to be pulled???

SAM, just make sure those who can access the safe are aware of how that weapon is stored. I know, all weapons are loaded, just nice to reinforce that
Yes, that can't be overemphasized.
Mine is going to remain unloaded and locked away for right now. It will not be part of the HD plan until I feel proficient with it. Right now, I am better off with any of the several handguns ready to hand.
Tonight after I get home....or maybe tomorrow morning when the lighting is better.
