    Holy mother of Jello, I received the hospital/Surgeon bill for my total disk replacement surgery today. Anyone want to take a guess???? It was twice my my guess beforehand was.....

    I need to figure out dinner. My Stepson has some friends up in the Dayton, OH area (that's where my wife lived when I met her) and they all went up there. Going to be cooking just for one tonight.....
    They were going to stop and get sushi, count me out.....

    That was my reaction.... I was expecting $30K for the surgery, overnight at hospital, etc.....

    :nono: it's nuts now. It takes a certain amount of $$$$$$$$$ to run a hospital. Medicare don't pay :****:, insurance is slow to pay. That is why the prices are so high. If you had offered to pay cash, the bill would have been 50% less.

    Yeah. BlueCross/BlueShield has already paid them, that was really quick in todays environment. The last time I was in the hospital was 2008 and it took nearly a year to get the insurance company to pay them....

    I know several people mad at the ACA, because they built up a savings account for medical expenses and just had insurance for catastrophic health issues. Saved them lots of money.
