    Carriers have docs, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, everyone. They're friggin cities.
    Smaller ships, not so sure.
    Subs, we had 1 corpsman. The corpsman had to have done duty with a marine infantry unit, to show he can operate on his own.
    He must have some seniority.
    If something happens outside his training, and they can't medevac you, the wardroom becomes an operating room, and he has books.

    The only time we carried a doc, was when we carried "spec ops".
    They were there for the bends, and for battle casualties.
    No "spec ops", no doc.

    Thanks for the info, act. Just looking into all my options after graduation right now. Navy has a damn sweet deal for pharmacists, but it's apparently quite competitive.
