I have troubles with the accents in French myself.Too many kinds.
Three possible accents that you can put on top of the "a".
It also means you have three different "a" keys on the keyboard and I cant even locate them all ... I found them " à a ä â" takes forever to type them.
In school I used to write quickly so that you couldn't tell what accent I used.
Especially with the "e" who can be either "é" or "è".
I made the accent horizontal so the teacher had to assume it was facing the right direction.

Glad you finally understood it. I probably never will. But then again I'm not French so it doesn't matterIt worked a few times but then I was called at the desk and the teacher asked me what type of accent I used.

That's just like with "their/there/they're", or "your/you're".
You just have to know the rule but looks like some people just randomly take one hoping it will fit.

One of them replied to one of my posts by saying "your gay".
I replied "My gay?

He also told me "you failled the gay test".Which I assumed it meant I was straight but I figured he meant so say I was gay.
