Not done the bacon but the meat is gamey.

It's all about the clean kill. The gamey taste comes from adrenaline, same as deer. Get a clean kill b4 it's spooked and it's good stuff.

Speaking of Hogs, they say within the next 4 years Wild hogs will be all the way up into Michigan. Watched a show about it on Discovery a few months ago. Said if we wiped out 75% of the population, they'd be completely recovered in 2 years.

I ate some at a big hog hunt once and it was not good enough for me to want 2nds.

What size round did they hit it with? You need a .308 or better hitting the heart or brain. The hide on Wild hogs gets very tough, almost like an armor. I was trying to do some hoggin back in August down in Mississippi, just couldn't get it setup in time.
