Yup, that or rack it again to use a slug that you have in there for a follow up/vehicle disabling/well aimed shot.

I do not have slugs loaded. Buckshot is enough of an over-penetration concern in a trailer, located in a trailer park. Slugs would go through three or four homes if I missed.

Nor do I have any interest at all in disabling a vehicle in a home defense scenario. If they are in a vehicle, they are leaving, and I'm happy. Last thing I want to do is keep them around my home!

As for a well aimed shot, at the distances in my home those can be made with the buckshot... if I have good sights :D

Not a good situation for a shot gun!

    snip

But the shotgun is liable to be what I have, if I have time to get up and get to it. Not to mention, it's still easier to make the shot with a shotgun than it is a handgun, freshly awakened, under stress. If I have good sights :D

You guys should have seen Kimmi shooting tonight, she was clanging the steel right and left.

Literally Right and Left as we were practicing with off hands tonight as well. :D

I grew up grouse hunting. You don't have time to think about sights. So I know that it would never occur to me to use sights in a hallway shoot out situation, using a shotgun.
