    Mom can you define what you consider a good price for the laptop/desktop you are starting to look for? I just ordered a refurbished laptop for what I consider a good price.


    I'm not even sure. I'd like to stay under $150 to $200. They are seriously only going to use it mostly for Solitaire and maybe viewing her word/excel files. Their desktop has lost it microsoft programs and she can't open her files so wants to be able to do that too.

    I am seriously thinking I may need to buy ME a new laptop and give her mine. This one is five years old but still works great. I put all of my files on an external hard drive so that has kept it from getting bogged down in the memory department fairly significantly. It already has more programs than she would need.

    Her computer has Windows XP on it....so it is old.
