    It was fun to do. I used to practice lock picking a lot. Also starting cars :): all legal of coarse.
    I really enjoyed the challenge and even the same lock doesn't always open the same way. I wouldn't have minded being a locksmith as a hobby.

    I'm not sure what the licensing requirements are even as a hobby, also people get sue happy. Yeats why cops stopped opening car doors.
    Also, you get a guy like me who would do it for free for "friends" and a locksmith would see it as cutting in on his living and who knows what. It's not worth the headache. I'll do it for friends like you and other lurkers but that's about it unless it's an emergency then I'd help someone.
    ive let people (instructed) use my car kit before. I make the do everything so if they **** it up its on them not me. It's a due happy world
