74 GM hei now that is a little out of my wheel house. But I would stary with check the distributer cap & rotor. I have had many a GM not start because of a cap/ rotor a couple lost the little "rotor button" in the cap

    Near the big river.
Replace the cap, some of them had a tendency to crack/short out internally. Cheap first step in troubleshooting.

Big difference in quality between manufacturers. OEM was good, couple dollars more. Still used on some of the forklifts we work on.

Worked in the shop this afternoon. Trying to get this thing all lined up and ready for paint, we didn't take it apart and nothing is marked... Got the doors, rear door and fenders on. Pretty productive afternoon, also had our compressor wired in.

This thing will be getting painted bright orange and have a sound system that will make the mouse mans hair dance all while laying frame.

that was the first thing i checked....i did remember that...:)

    I have a spare.......new ones are $110.
I just bought one for my 64 S/S as the bearings crapped out of the original.

I was going to get it running today but it rained so the spouse and I painted the family room.
She is all smiles but my car still does not run.....:(

Spent a solid day under the hood of the 64.
New radiator/fans are done. Fans are wired for sound.
Upper and lower hoses are on and the system is full and holding water.
Carb is installed and the linkage is done correctly now.
Need a 1" shorter Alternator belt. Also need to get into the Alt. mount and make it right.
Battery is on the juice box.
Just the distributor and plug wires to go.
