If they are the manufacturer, they do NOT need to send it to an FFL. Browning sent me a brand spankin new O/U when my old one had issues, and it came right to my door.
Call them back and tell them that, and tell them about the extra cost and that they need to be responsible for the return charges, NOT YOU.
No way. That is hilarious.
Is a high "Ploish" finish more valuable than a high "Polish" finish? It's not just Marlin. We recently got in several Mossberg 500 Classics, and the box labels all said "High Ploish Finish"

I finally went out to the shed to look at my marlin boxes and sure enough, the 44mag lever-action cowboy rifle that I bought 5 or 6 years ago came in a box that says "KEEP THIS FIREARM OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDERN"I think I have posted my marlin boxes here before.
Guess which one is pre buyout and which one was post buyout.
Yeah, when it comes to childern, Marlin cares .I finally went out to the shed to look at my marlin boxes and sure enough, the 44mag lever-action cowboy rifle that I bought 5 or 6 years ago came in a box that says "KEEP THIS FIREARM OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDERN"
I agree that quality control is a problem, but I really like my 3 Remingtons and 2 Marlins. They are far from trash. Why do all good things come to an end. I remember when Marlin and Remington were both the greatest shotguns and rifles. Its sad when a name is bought and then stamped on a piece of trash. Quality control these days sucks!
Have them give you a shipping label. That's not a WARRANTY issue as much as a SHOULD NEVER HAVE LEFT THE FACTORY issue... I wouldn't pay to send it back.I REALLY want to send it in. Another $20 for shipping, and another 6 weeks wait puts me off. I really think I'm just going to write it off as a bad purchase and lesson learned. We'll see.
