This is an update on an event back in 2015. I could've swore I posted about it on INGO... but search failed me.

A group called "Honey Badger Brigade" was kicked out of Calgary Expo for being associated loosely with GamerGate.

They sued Calgary Expo and The Mary Sue for spreading misinformation and damaging claims about the group. The lies spread through the media and put them in a very negative light. They were labeled as "GamerGate harassers", and used in that narrative.

Well, they got a trial in 2017 after raising funds for the lawsuit.... and now they're done with the court dates.

The judge wants time (weeks to months) before rendering judgement, to review all testimony, court transcripts, etc. Calgary's testimony that HBB didn't do all the things they earlier claimed, but got the boot because "25 Twitter complaints - even if all 25 are unfounded, we'd kick anyway", and "People who we like don't like them, so out they go", wound up playing in HBB's favor. Judge wants time because of the precedence-setting nature of this case (if you're going to be exclusionary, you're going to have to be up-front, instead of hiding it).

They may need a round of fundraising if they want copies of the court transcripts ($1500-2000 range, as they're charged per word, and lawyers love the sound of their own voices...), and if they want to get the judgment in-person.

They'll have the option of getting the judgment "in-Person", where they'll be in court, and can have spectators, or "remotely", via teleconference, but that will be a "closed" session.

Sounds like the defamation aspect is a done deal.

I truly believe some persons in this world are only jealous of other persons happiness and life and they only want to **** on it. They are sick mentally I'll people to find enjoyment on bringing pain and displeasure from others.

I am NOT a sovereign citizen nor do I support those nut job criminals, but I do believe a person or family has the right to live fully independent of anyone else or society if they wish. However if you interact in society or with other people laws must be followed, taxes paid ect. But people need to go re-learn to be free and American. Not socialist

Ha yep. It's scary out there. I used to think I was weird. I'm not saying I'm not weird according to societies standards. Actualy I'm proud to be different and not a blind sheep.
But I'm antisocial i guess you could say because there's mental patients running loose everywhere ready to explode with the slightest spark. Like most people here I'm always ready for a gun fight but I will do everything in my ability to avoid one.
Also everyone seems to be looking at everyone else as a cash cow and for what they can get them for. Sue sue sue and for everything. So stupid.

I'm trying to figure out why John Schnatter resigned. I think it's obvious that he felt he had to do it to help protect the brand, but going deeper than that, is he a weakling who caves immediately to SJW threats, or was he just ready to retire from actively running the company so he can do what he wants and spend some of his money in peace?

Yeah I think hes a weakling OR because hes forced to.
I dont know all the legal workings of all of these companies and boards and sometimes secret agreements people have to sign to be on them. Maybe he loses millions if they vote him out due to embarrassment in the media or something but if he resigns and keeps his mouth shut he doesnt?
Because he also resigned from a board at the university of Louisville he was on too.
This is so stupid. The dude did nothing wrong.
I got to meet the guy unrelated to papa johns, and he was a super nice guy. That doesnt mean **** really except that some celebrity or super rich types I've met arent nice to a nobody. So it means something to me
