Alyx Vance was pretty much the main character in the 2004 Half-Life 2, apart from the main non-speaking player character, Gordon Freeman.

This takes place between HL1 and HL2, and looks to fill that gap of how she came to be a part of HL2.

Valve did an interview with Geoff Keighley about the new game, sounds like they're planning more games in the future... might finally see Half-Life 3 make a return.

I can see this game causing a big influx of VR system purchases.

Oh. I played them all back then. I would have been surprised in today's world if there had been a male lead no matter what the timeline.

I played LA Noire a few years ago and couldn’t get into it. I’ve thought about reinstalling it and giving it another go though, I’m hoping it picks up further in the story.

I just got promoted out of homicide. I thought that was more interesting than the first few. It's very open like GTA (L.A. is huge), but you really can't just run around causing mayhem. And it's more linear than I thought it would be - only one case, most of the steps are in order.

The few puzzles are a nice touch.

Are the outcomes of the cases linear? What I mean is, can I arrest the wrong person, and case closed, or does the game force me to get the right person? Not sure if that makes sense really. In other words is it pre determined that I will always crack the case

Seems predetermined to arrest the intended suspect.

Does anybody have any experience with the Nintendo switch? I’m debating getting one for my daughter but nobody I know owns one. She’s 6 years old and has a Xbox one, her main game is roblox. I’ve kinda scanned through the available games and it looks like it’s a good mix of older/younger focused games, so wondering if anybody here has anymore info and if it would be worth it for a 6 year old? She’s wanting a PC but I’m avoiding that until she’s a little older. Xbox I can set parental controls a lot easier. The reason I thought about a switch is when we are out and about it would give her something to keep from being bored (when we go camping, fishing, dinner with my grandparents etc) Only other question I really have is how does online work? Is it a membership like Xbox? WiFi connected? (No data network on its own) Do I need SD Cards or does it use a cloud? Apps?

Any advice or info I may have glossed over would be appreciated. Thanks

Going to play Twilight Imperium this week with family members (well, some of them). Promises to be involved and time-consuming.

That's an impressive game, and complicated.... nice.

Never played it, but I see it's in the top ten, and copies of it are crazy expensive right now.
