    Blunty does a good job summarizing the differences between the Switch Lite and the Switch, and who the market for it is

    On a personal level, can't report much new in my gaming world... still hammering away at FFXIV.

    So let Scott the Woz talk to you about Cancelled Games!

    Honestly, I wouldn't know as much as I do about WW2 without gaming.

    Games got me interested in the WW2 era, and I learned a ton about it. Probably even the thing that got me interested in firearms... which made me into the Libertarian/Conservative that I am today.

    Gaming = Conservative!

    Put together an Arcade1Up cabinet today. Dog for scale.

    Definitely need a riser for it.

    Debating between a RetroPi or a Pandora's Box mod kit.

    Picked up Link's Awakening for Switch today. For anyone who played the original game or for those who missed out, I think it's worth a play. I'm already loving the reimagined art style.

    I've learned far, FAR more about European history from Europa Universalis that I ever did in all my schooling combined. You'll never laugh at france again when you see yet another 100k stack of troops rolling across the border... :(

    Settled on a Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB) for the brains behind my arcade build. Starting to get excited! Should be pretty cool to have my own arcade cabinet, nostalgic.

    I got the Arcade1Up riser, so now it's at a much better height. Still need to get a nice stool.

    Looking at a bunch of mod ideas that other people have done, lighting and whatnot... getting some ideas. Probably pick out some Happ buttons and a Sanwa stick to replace the stock ones, need to look into a step bit for drilling certain sized holes for extra buttons.

    Might put a coin door on it for aesthetics.

    Is MAME still a thing? I know a friend with thousands of ROMs.

    I was big into WWII when I was younger but the only games I played were COD2 and medal of honor which I dont think had much contribution. The turn based strategy games like the total war franchise, though, taught me a lot of history and geography I wouldn't otherwise know.

    When I was a yute, I played board war games and did a lot about history. War of the Roses, Napoleonic Wars, WWII, Civil War. Avalon Hill and SPI had a bunch of games back then.
