    Quake..pfft... younguns.

We had an Engineering Mall map for Doom when we were at Purdue.

Haha! That's awesome. Did you ever get around to making a map of the EE Building? If so, I bet the doom editor crashed.

Edit: I grew up on Doom. Great game. Quake was a lot better for multiplayer death match though. "WHO GOT THE QUAD DAMAGE?!?!"

Wolfenstein is one of those games that I can't believe I missed out on when they started them up again. I first bought The New Colossus, and was BLOWN away. I then went back and got the The New Order, and the Old Gods. Both are excellent. If you like revisionist history, where the Nazis win, and then killing them in a variety of interesting ways. It's a must buy.

Yeah they're great games. Really well-made, good dose of humor, just the right amount of over-the-top carnage.

So the new Assassin's Creed was "leaked", and now confirmed... Assassin's Odyssey... a sequel to Origins I believe. It's in Ancient Greece.

Also, Bethesda will have an unusually long E3 presentation... too long to just highlight Fallout 76. Rumors are a new Elder Scrolls game.

I'll give a good lead-up warning to E3 in this thread, and cover it extensively.

And what about DICE praising Ms. Sarkeesian for becoming a Games Developer Choice Ambassador just two years later? They seem to be happy to associate with her and support her.

Steam has released a statement on what sorts of games are allowed on the platform

    https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110/announcements/detail/1666776116200553082

    Good for them:

So we ended up going back to one of the principles in the forefront of our minds when we started Steam, and more recently as we worked on Steam Direct to open up the Store to many more developers: Valve shouldn't be the ones deciding this. If you're a player, we shouldn't be choosing for you what content you can or can't buy. If you're a developer, we shouldn't be choosing what content you're allowed to create. Those choices should be yours to make. Our role should be to provide systems and tools to support your efforts to make these choices for yourself, and to help you do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable.

With that principle in mind, we've decided that the right approach is to allow everything onto the Steam Store, except for things that we decide are illegal, or straight up trolling

Looking at the new game 'Vampyr'... it's getting a lot of really high praise.

Probably going to pick it up.

Here are two videos covering it... one from ACG, one from Jake Baldino (Gameranx)

    This week's Gameranx wrap-up

    1. Ubisoft believes next gen is last for consoles, likely due to "games as a service" or streaming games reaching a practical point. Microsoft agrees.

    4. Devil May Cry 5 leaked.

Sorry just got home. Here's the EA E3 live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiXe3HmRvWg

Today's EA E3 presentation started with a Battlefield V multiplayer footage, then FIFA 19.

They talked Origin Access Premier... trying to get back into cloud streaming games... again. Latency will always be an issue. Will have more games and a Netflix type of model. EA CEO betting the market will shift to subscription services for games.

Respawn took the stage to talk about their new Star Wars game, "Jedi Fallen Order". Takes place during "dark times" when Jedi are being hunted. Set between Episode 3 and 4. Target Holiday 2019.

New game called 'Sea of Solitude' coming from "EA Originals", their indie brand. It's a 'forever alone' sort of game... very stylized graphics, based on a true story translated to fantasy. Jo-Mei game studio is making it... looks really interesting. Early 2019. Teaser here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWY76dNvXyo

New Command & Conquer game... mobile.

EA CEO talked a bit about pay-to-win, lootboxes, social justice, etc.

Finally they moved into the Anthem cinematic and gameplay. Confirmed Feb 22, 2019.

    Anthem trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFwylDNpgFc

Anthem set up for a dynamic shared world with episodic story.....already priming for EA's new service model

Geoff Keighley is hosting the "Youtube @ E3" stream here. Bethesda's presentation is later this evening... which I'm more interested in. I don't have an XBox, but a lot of Microsoft's reveals will probably have some layer of PC compatibility.

Edit: My bad... Starts at 4pm, not 3pm.
