One of my buddies gets made fun of for his new $40k truck all the time. It's because he's always complaining about some stupid scratch or saying he's a "car guy" (never seen him under a hood in his life). And he really wants people to think he's cool because of his truck. People catch on to that immediately and start making fun of him. Hell, before he knew my wife was my wife, she walked up to our group and he immediately started hitting on her and trying to show off his truck. Lots of chuckles at his expense that day.

I rock the **** out of my old beater hill jack truck. My wife even gets comments from people that it's awesome that I still drive it. It's long since paid for and runs like a champ. I'm under $0.07 per mile for that truck. I could care less if people think it's cool or not.

Cars don't make you cool. You make you cool (or not).
