That would just be the most awesome outcome ever. The sizeable wing of the Democrats, socialists, would have a choice between two billionaires.

I can't stop laughing about that idea. The bat-**** crazy neo-marxists either have to vote for the thing they think is the greatest evil, rich people, or Donald Trump, who is also rich. They're ****ed all the way around. If they vote for Bloomberg, they're voting for evil. If they stay home, Donald Trump wins. BAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh, please, please, if there is a god, please make Bloomberg win the nomination. America deserves a good laugh. Make America Laugh Again.

The only one getting an erection over Bloomberg is you.

    He's a nothing burger to democrats. He's not a kingmaker. He's rich. He's jewish. He's a New Yorker.

Not appealing to anyone outside of Boca Raton.

Not appealing to democrat gun owners (of which there are many).

He's the male counterpart to Pocahontas. A nanny-stater.

Why you gotta disrespect everything I say? You got an erection for me? Dude, it's a joke. I get that he's not appealing to anyone. I'm pretty sure I've said as much throughout this thread. I may have even repped you for saying the same.

But interesting that you mention the things that he's not to democrats as if that's why Democrats won't vote for him. Not a kingmaker. So if he were that he WOULD be a something burger to Democrats?

Nah. Because I know that's not what you're saying. Maybe you might try to imagine what I'm actually saying. You think you can do that? If it's too much for you to do, I dunno, maybe it's best for your blood pressure if you just ignore me. There's a button supplied to every member to do that.

Oh, and WOKE! So there! :p

There was a recent poll about Bloomberg among likely democrat voters. Only 6 percent said they'd definitely vote for him in the primary. But 36% said they'd definitely NOT vote for him. I guess he's counting on the potential of the 58% undecided as encouragement to throw his hat into the clown car.

Many of those 58% undoubtedly have no idea who he is. Just wait until they find out that he's the 9th richest person in the US, worth about $53B.

I dunno. Maybe I have a new person to vote for in the primary if he's still in the running in May. I think he's a pretty easy person to make fun of. A Trump vs Bloomberg race might be entertaining.

Not sure it would necessarily play out that way. Couldn't he become the Left's Trump, where they make the bargain of accepting the bad to get the good (under the assumption that some of what he would like to do they would approve of). If they had to choose between two billionaires, wouldn't they choose their own? It is funny to think the 'resistance' would just re-target if he was elected

I think he actually likes the idea of Bloomberg (compared to the bat**** alternatives) and as a good little fellow traveler, he's already deflecting attention away from Bloomie in the hopes he can come from the shadows

Because you so often paint the entire democratic party as neo-Marxists, socialists, yada yada yada.

Perhaps it's just a factor of typing so much. You are bound to **** everyone off eventually. :)

[Note to Alpo: This is my serious post]

No, I really don't think it would play out that way. Of all the factions in the Democratic party I don't think Bloomberg would appeal to any, except maybe the moderates who support Joe Biden. I could see him pealing off some support there. I think the CBS interview really hurt Biden, because he came off really old, really out of touch, and really incoherent. So maybe some of the Biden supporters are feeling frustrated with Biden, and some might see Bloomberg as an alternative. I think that some of Biden's support is working class/union types who don't like Trump for various reasons. They're not going to jump over to Bloomberg. But I could see some of the moderates doing that. Maybe some of the soccer mom types who think Biden, even being creepy, is still better than the bat-**** crazies, but that Bloomberg is at least not senile. So they might switch. Hard to say.

I don't see him pealing off any support from Bernie or Warren either. Biden, Sanders, and Warren make up nearly 70% of the support according to the last poll I saw. So that leaves a little over 30% to spread over the other dozen-and-a-half other candidates. [Trigger warning for Alpo, I'm about to say the word...] Bloomberg is just not woke enough to appeal to most Millennials. He's not socialist enough to appeal to Sanders/Warren supporters. He's certainly not female enough to get core Warren supporters.

I really don't understand his thinking, why he thought he should jump in. Maybe he was encouraged by someone else. Maybe this is just the expression of his frustration that for all the "coup" efforts by Democrats--Russiagate, Ukrainegate, Trump's approval rating really isn't suffering much. Democrats might actually be afraid that Trump could win this. In the next full poll with Bloomberg in it, I suspect that he could debut ahead of most if not all of the minors, but still behind the majors. And I suspect we'll see that reflected in Biden's numbers more than anyone else's.

Oh. So I pissed you off? Good to know. Would like to know by what though. I don't paint the entire democratic party as neo-Marxists. But, I have said that that faction--except I'd say it's more the "social justice" faction--has pretty much taken control of the Democratic party. I don't think that's a majority, but the majority of still sane Democrats are afraid to take a **** without painfully going through all the steps to ensure it's a politically correct ****, for fear of being canceled. You know, ceremoniously apologizing that the toilet they're about to **** in is on the sacred land of indigenous people, apologizing for their privilege, for their whiteness, if that's appropriate, deferring to the oppressed intersectional hierarchy of minorities to **** first, etcetera. [Don't fact check that. It's a joke.]

There are bat **** crazy people on both sides, but right now, it's primarily the left with the biggest problem. Maybe I'll try to type fewer words in the future so that you won't feel like skipping whole paragraphs that would have made clearer what I'm saying.

You shouldn't CONFLATE what conservatives mean by WOKE and what WOKE means to THE WOKE :)

    1) You need to add trigger warnings before you say words that trigger people.

    2) I think the issue is not what WOKE means to the WOKE, but more what WOKE means to old people whose yards aren't sufficiently trod across by young people to better occupy their grumpy old man time. You reach a certain age, and if you don't get to say "get off my lawn!" enough, you take it with you wherever you go.

We all must remember, Bloombergs back was against the wall, he either filed the paperwork or let that state go IF he ran. This is likely a trial balloon.

There are two types of white boys that used to wear their ballcaps on backwards:

    1) semi-pro baseball catchers and welders
    2) everyone else because they believed themselves to be hip.

Some white boys who aren't welders or catchers still wear their ballcaps on backwards. They don't recognize that it's too late. Even the white dudes don't think it's cool any more.

And so goes terms like woke. Not only is it grammatically stupid, it is a term that is inherently stupid. You are either awake or you are not. It isn't the past or present or future tense of awake. It will never be.

But, I suppose if you're a baseball catcher that caught a fastball to the nuts or a welder who stood up under an I-beam and dented his cranium, "woke" is a pretty good term.

Alpo imagines that he understands why people do things. It only can be that. Can't be any other explanations.

Again. Alpo, I don't give a **** about trendy. But, I use the terms of the day to capture the full meaning of cultural idioms. Well. And also to poke fun at them. And to poke fun at people who can't figure out the real reasons why people use them.
