interesting night in here tonight!
I ran out to MCFG late this afternoon to dial in the G23. It was a struggle. After this morning with shooting one hole ragged groups with the P10S, I was having trouble keeping the G23 on paper at 20 yards. At 10 yards, offhand, I was having trouble keeping the groups under 5 inches.
Granted, this morning with the P10S, it was warm, well lit and my feet were not freezing. This afternoon at MCFG, it was snowing, my hands were freezing and my feet were numb. But, damn, I need to figure the RMR out on the G23. I had the P10S along and I was not doing as well with that either but I was really off my game on the G23.
Tonight, I’m dry firing with a LaserLyte cartridge and am getting better at picking up the dot but it needs work. On the bright side, the Holosun on the 507C is going quite well. Sure, I was not doing the nice tight groups at MCFG that I was doing at PB but I was ringing steel well and picking the dot up very well.
Definitely rifle. I can’t hit anything with a pistol.
Unless you really want an old one, get a Pedersoli replica. They work 100% of the time and look great. The 44-40 is the best caliber for this. The Ubertis are about a 50% proposition, they are designed more from the 1880s style. That said, I have an color case Uberti Lightning in 45 Colt with a tang sight on it that works 100% of the time and will put 260 grain cast bullets on a 10 inch steel plate 100% at 100 yards. That's even with my old eyes.
Pump gun…..?????

You had one on your watch list this week, any luck? The large frame guns fired cartridges as big as 50-95.
Hush up you. I’m just doing a little poetry, and evaluating my collecting needs.I leave for a little bit and it looks like KJ is already into the Coors...
I changed up my wine for a margarita tonight! It was deliciousI leave for a little bit and it looks like KJ is already into the Coors...
If I buy a Lightning, I’m picturing a small frame. Not being a reloader, .22 would be the easiest. Several medium frame calibers are pretty available, but the large frame stuff, you better be reloading.I only have one 50-95, a modern 1876 Winchester. Oversize lever gun, really something for large people, but it was an early favorite of Teddy Roosevelt. Very accurate with cast bullets and a tang sight, 360 grain slugs and 5744 powder make this a heavy shooter.
Uh, oh ...... step lightly around that G word ! (wink, wink)
Last night was Mexican night. There were giant margaritas.I changed up my wine for a margarita tonight! It was delicious
