A little more cash and you can upgrade to better glass. At least for my eyes.

I'm not sure what the difference is just looking at specs. Too bad there isn't a range that sells optics that lets you test it out so you know what you like!

The problem with this scope for .22lr is the 'Parallax Setting:50 yards to Infinity'. It won't focus down to 25 yards.

I ended up ordering the Hawke 6-24x44 SF 1/2 Mil-Dot scope. Should be here Wednesday. That means that I have to get off my keister and float that barrel. And, strip and refinish the stock too.

I really was thinking that I’d go with the 4-12x50 since I didn’t want to put an optic on that old rifle that I’d just pull right back off when I got something better and the 4-12x50 would have been the perfect permanent scope for that rifle. But then I thought that this optic leaves the door open for a better rifle and I can get the cheaper optic then which lets me put more money into the rifle when it’s time.

We all have our bottom end, whether it be rifles or scopes. Colt is my bottom end on an AR, and Vortex is my bottom end on a scope. Neither have ever let me down.

You guys have done all the scope shopping for your .22 rifles, I’m now trying to figure out what to put on top of the cz452 I just picked up. The only scope I have is a cheapo one I got from academy a few years ago and the rings aren’t tall enough for the front of the scope to clear the iron sights. I’ll need something better for the rifle.

I have the 3x9AO and I think it is stellar. Bright and Clear.

T-dogg will probably chime in with a more detailed response but I thought his 4-16(?) wasn't quite a bright or sharp.
I have the 3-9x40 AO on the camo 15-22 and the 4-12x40 AO on the RPR. The 3-9 seems brighter and I prefer it's simplistic 30/30 reticle over the mil dot on the 4-12. However, while shooting at 12 power with the RPR at 100 yards, I think I'll want more magnification eventually. That 6-24 that 88 is getting looks like a real possibility.
