I could have bought a really nice Wilson Combat for what I sent the Govt yesterday. It still hurts. On the plus side though, I do get $16 back from the state. That's almost two boxes of 9mm ammo that I can shoot through a CZ to make me feel better.

Same. Every year I owe, so I increase the amount I put in my 401k, make more charitable donations, and have extra taken out, and every year I owe more. I get a refund from the state and owe uncle Sam. The amount I owe federal is typically twice the amount I get back from the state.

For what I paid the Govt. this year I could have bought several very nice guns.

As far as 401Ks go, back in 2007/2008 I got screwed hard. The company I was working for had merged, and our 401K was being moved from one company to another. We managed to cash out at the lowest point, I had lost 75% of what I had. It then took months before the money was moved into the new company, due to a comedy of errors.

I have no idea how much I have in there now, since I left that job and moved it to an IRA. I lost my login to the IRA. So it sits there.

CM, I hope everything works out for your wife.

Speaking of Wilson Combat....got home tonight and a Wilson Combat box was on my desk. I thought, "Sweet! My wife bought me a 1911!". Opened it up and it was two 458 socom mags I backordered weeks ago. Good but not as good as it could have been!

Just finished watching 'Full Metal Jacket' in honor of R. Lee Ermey. Need to find a copy of 'Boys of Company C'. I always liked that one more.
