I will not presume to answer for the Mouse, but can offer the opinion that the Sig 1911s are great pistols. The two things that tend to bother a lot of folks are the squared slide profile (does not look like the one in your photo has that though, being a traditional profile) and the external extractor. External extractors are fine, but do run against tradition in 1911s.

On the plus side for the Sigs are the fact that they tend to come complete with front strap checkering, extended controls, night sights, nice grips, checkered steel main spring housings and decent triggers. Mine is a Sig Railed Nickel full size 1911 and has been a very nice pistol for the $900 I paid for it.

Edit: CM did tell him exactly how he feels and to his credit, was pretty kind about the slide profile and other mods. CM is definitely becoming a big teddy bear now days.

I'll admit to hanging out (reading) this thread quite often .... and I know that it takes more than ownership to join this distinguished group of folks.
However, so to not veer too far off from the subject of this thread, I'm a new CZ owner. After reading all of the info, including the magic that the Wizard can bestow on a CZ, I had to have one. I hope that I picked a good one !

Welcome aboard MfM! It takes nothing other than participation and an appreciation of the CZ platform to fit in around here. That's quite the nice CZ you have there too.

Heading off to bed now, but I did want to share a very minor experience down town today. I was meeting the wife for lunch and was running a couple of minutes late. She is waiting on a corner of the circle for me and as I approach, she is staring at her phone, has earbuds in and has her purse hanging towards her 5 O'clock position. As soon as I see her, I see a homeless, scruffy homey slowly ambling his way directly towards her. He is watching her and keeps glancing down at the purse. We both get within 5 feet of her and she has noticed neither of us, but he suddenly notices me starting directly at him and walking towards my wife. I think he realized that we were together and made a quick 90 degree turn and wandered off in a different direction.

Nothing came of it, but I do wonder how close she was to getting either her purse snatched or wallet grabbed from it. Hopefully, she's a bit more aware of her surroundings after I gave her hell for not paying attention in that area. BTW, I was unarmed at the time due to my work place not being gun friendly.

And this is why I always have at least my ZT-301 on me at all times and often it and my Protech auto.
But I am more hands on in these situations anyway.

Yeah, that would be quite alarming ! I'm glad that you were there to ward off a (probable) bad situation.
I've talked to my wife (of 36 yrs.) many times about situational awareness. I don't think that most women are wired to be quite as adept in that area as us men. Please note that I said "most" .... I've seen some women who could be James Bond counterparts ! :D

.... and thanks for your words of welcome, also.

I'll add my welcome as well MfM :)

I agree with 88 that the Sig 1911 platform can be nice. I love my Sig TacOps 1911. Heck of a gun for the price, though it helps that I bought it on sale. Another thought, for not a lot more money than a lot of the Sig models is a nice Dan Wesson Heritage or Specialist. Better built than the Sigs and none of the series 80 crap. They don't have anything like the Sig model you linked to, but the great thing about 1911's is that you can have whatever you want done to the gun and make it just as nice, but unique. I love the 1911 and CZ platforms for the ability to customize them to whatever specs you desire.

    Oh and nice CZ :yesway:

    Morning folks! :coffee:

I need to get out to MCFG one of these mornings. It's been a while since I took a bunch of ammo and just spent the morning burning it up on the steel out there. These hot summer days are perfect for spending time in the cool basement, loading ammo, so I have no excuse for not having a bunch of ammo to burn right now. There's a couple of days of vacation coming in the end of July that will be spent around the house, so maybe I'll try to get out there and actually get some ammo loaded to be able to really run some of the guns.

Oh yeah, I saw a Dan Wesson at USDS that looked really nice. They're definitely top-tier firearms.

Looking to move one that I acquired in the family here. Would like to see it stay in the family. It was sold to me at a great price and I intend to pass it along the same way. Don't really want to see it go, but life must happen...

1944 Remington Rand. If interested, please PM me.
