Lots of folks have known what great project guns these are. They have completed and posted the results of their efforts. Other folks are now, belatedly, jumping on the bandwagon. Unfortunately, this is happening just as the availability seems to be drying up. There had to be a finite number of these. It couldn't go on forever. So, with these two things happening at the same time prices are bound to rise. I just can't believe the latecomers are going to be willing to support these prices. I guess we'll see.

    Morning folks! :coffee:

I'm still enjoying the afterglow of a great weekend of shooting and meeting up with friends. No better way to spend some time off.

Wow, BA, those pre-B's are sure taking off. I wonder if that price bump would also hold true for a Cajunized pre-B or if it's that particular one that seems to have captured people's attention. Not that any of mine are up for sale, but just curious as to what they might be worth.

And we were discussing a soft market yesterday.

As with anything really cool the availability will drive the price as the n00bs come on board. I have seen this happen in a lot of hobby's/passions.

I agree. It's also a bit hard to imagine the price on that one given that it's a transitional. I love my transitional 75B but I also realize that the only thing that separates it from a standard 75B is the lack of a firing pin block. The early pre-Bs are distinctive enough to command a higher price for me, but I guess there's a lot of appreciation for that narrow window of pre-Bs that gave up nothing in terms of sight choices, yet also retain the earlier style slide and trigger function.

Every once in a while somebody won't really know what they have and you'll get a good deal but unless there is a new flood of surplus guns I might have to wait a wile to pick one up.

The sight situation, IMO, makes the transitionals the most appealing of the pre-Bs. Apparently a lot of people agree as the "A" models don't seem to be commanding those kind of prices.

On the way back from the range, my son and I were talking about what we would buy going forward. I think I'm at the saturation point on CZs. There are 14 in the safe at the moment and I could see adding an SP01 because that fills a niche that is empty right now. Other than that, I'm really happy with what I have. Same on the 1911 side. I'm thinking that I might start looking at interesting oddities going forward. Stuff like pre-war or WWII CZs or Berettas. I've always wanted a P08 Luger too. I would trade my current production PPK for a WWII era PP in a heartbeat.

The 4 CZ's I have are all stellar offerings. Not sure if anything else jumps out at me.
    3 9mm CZ's and a 9mm 1911 pretty much fill that need.

I will be bringing my custom Fusion home this morning.
Then I will look at the tires on my rig and sigh.....:):
They are not smoked totally but it will be time very soon.
