I'm pretty sure sometime last year, BA posted a shot of his 85 that was coated in midnight blue, with wooden grips. It turned out to be a very fetching combination, IMHO.

I think that's why they call it midnight blue.That color blue looks black in certain light if memory serves.
Agreed. It's exactly the color I will refinish my S&W Model 19 in once the time is right. Right now, the original finish is 90%+, and I can't bring myself to do it just yet... it's only original once.I think that's why they call it midnight blue.
Decisions decisions. It's hard trying to figure out what a gun should look like. Currently looking at several trying to figure out how they should look. Gonna play around with some Cerakote by mixing some colors, see if I can come up with something special.
