I do think in the near future things will change on the way the AR is sold or availabilty. Good thing I have a couple friends that have one just in case I would enjoy shooting one sometime!:lmfao:

Man, I'm bummed. I really hope this Orlando shooting doesn't throw a monkey wrench in things like the Sandy Hook shooting did. I bought my first gun in April of 2013. I didn't start hitting the range until that November. I remember the cost of my gun was higher than it would normally have been and also that ammo was scarce and expensive for months after I started shooting. I think it was April or later before 9mm became more widely available and came back down in price. That was over a year after Sandy Hook. :(

Expect the worst and take what comes along my friend.
Those at the helm are steering the boat well off course.
If you can get your ammo now. I mean now.
I have well more 9mm than I really need but hope to hang onto it to feed the spouses 1911.

That was the plan when I bought a case of Perfecta last night at Walmart. The price was the same as I've been getting from online retailers, so it worked out pretty well. This should keep me in ammo until the end of August or so, but not much past that time. If it goes crazy like in the past, things might get pretty strained... :(

    Oh don't I know it.
Free-for-all shoots like we just had will be on hold until the storm passes.

I don't have that option. I am unwilling to quit shooting. I need to stock up the ammo locker, at whatever cost.
I'm not gonna stop shooting, just shooting different firearms. This is why I like variety, I've got a bunch of different calibers, some which will still be available if something happens. I'll just shoot those. I've also built up my rimfire stash and will primarily shoot that.

I may end up buying one more case of 9mm. That *should* allow me to stay in ammo until November or so. If it gets bad after that, I may just have to slow my roll for a bit.
