Sorry to hear that churchmouse. I went twice this weekend, so I have to be good until next weekend... :):

I have to function test at least 1 1911 this week and possibly 2.
I am stripping the MilSpec project and putting it back to a closer to original condition but using all new SA parts in it.
I have more than enough pieces to make it nice/near but better than original and then it can find a new home.

I have places for the cool parts that will come out of it.
Sometimes a project just does not meet expectations and also increases the learning curve.

More satisfaction comes from the journey than from the destination. Once a project is done, I often find myself bored with the result.

Truer words haven't been spoken in this thread.... It's true for many things in life. When I talk to my buddies about going on a trip or something most of them want to fly and just get there.... I want to drive, because once I'm there I get bored quick.

Picked up a Tristar P120. I'd handled the SP01 and it certainly has a nicer finish, but if I closed my eyes I'm not sure I could tell the difference. I haven't run it yet but it looks legit. Hopefully report back with rave review!

The slowest time I can think of is that time between buying a gun and getting to actually shoot it.

I'm not familiar with the P120, but Canik's have a good reputation. Sounds like a good buy.

Congrats. As a brand new owner myself I can promise you that you'll love it. I wish I would have picked one up a long time ago, but alas the CZ fans kept their club a secret for a long time.
