IF CGW can do it, we know someone that can do it better! So what would it take to convert a shadow 2 compact to SAO? Is the juice worth the squeeze to do so? Would it compare to a gun that was sao from the start?
Looks like these take an adapter plate for any optic as there isn't a "native" fit footprint? and you lose the rear sight when installing an optic?
Looking at a cruiser or a more adventurous on/off road enterprise?I've decided to buy a motorcycle. Studying this weekend and hoping to get my permit on Monday with a training class with Abate of Indiana in early September.
To help fund this endeavor, I put some stuff in the classifieds the other day and will also be selling a few of my 1911 guns. Offering them here first with a discount, before they hit the classies. Also have an extra HS407A3 red dot that will be for sale and some 9/40/45 brass.
I do REALLY like this one. It looks even better in person! But I have family stuff to prioritize right now and new guns are not in the current budget.Tisas .45 SS Carry

- bobnosed
- ballcut at front lower slide
- flat topped and design serrations
- french border
- heavy lower slide bevel
- lightening ports
- rear of slide/frame blended

- short trigger
- Ed Brown ext mag release
- Fusion mainspring housing
- Dawson F/O front sight
2 factory mags
2 sets of Coolhand G10 grips
(287 rounds fired thru it)
All work performed by me. Mainspring housing cerakoted black. Barrel bushing and spring plug rust blued. It's really enjoyable and more accurate than you would think.

Cruiser. Found a 2006 Honda Shadow local that I'm gonna buy Tuesday. Had been looking at them on Facebook.
Back when I wanted to upgrade from a 82 Yamaha seca, I was looking at Shadows. Dad surprised me with a Sportster and I've been on HD ever since.Cruiser. Found a 2006 Honda Shadow local that I'm gonna buy Tuesday. Had been looking at them on Facebook.
I meant to ask. What/if anything has kept you away from an SC2 (assuming you don't have one)?I don't have a P229 SAO. In order to answer your question, I will need to buy one. Be right back with an answer.
Just kidding!!!
Of those four - the S2c is probably the best bang for buck. The DWX is over priced by a bit and compares closer to a 2011 than a SAO Sig or does it?? That being said, If I had to give up the DWX or the P226 SAO; I would give up the DWX first (and then go buy another).
THAT being said, I also spent $$$$ on the P226 SAO to replace springs, hammer and trigger. The DWX is pretty darn nice right of the box. So maybe I would keep the DWX instead. It is really a fantastic combination of the best of a 1911, a CZ and a Sig. IMnsHO,
Darn it. I don't know....but I sure do like my P226 SAO Legion. ALOT!
I guess I need a P229 SAO and CZ S2c now.
Thanks, pal....

Went to the local Harley used dealer to look at a Sportser. The guy was bringing it around because he just sold it. Told him I was looking for a first bike. They just took in a very clean 06 Shadow 750 and told me $1500. It was exactly what I wanted. It felt perfect sitting on it. Later sat on a new Honda Rebel 500, a Suzuki Boulevard and a Yamaha Vstar. None of those felt right like the Shadow.Back when I wanted to upgrade from a 82 Yamaha seca, I was looking at Shadows. Dad surprised me with a Sportster and I've been on HD ever since.
Keep the shiny side up, and have fun!
Yeah...just because it's a first bike, doesn't mean it has to be small.Went to the local Harley used dealer to look at a Sportser. The guy was bringing it around because he just sold it.
