The remaining cat we have picked me as his person from the start when he was a kitten, and follows me around, is usually right next to me. He will however just slap the dog for no reason, and is more vocal. My wife doesn't get along with him.
    Sorry for your loss.

    M y 13+ year old pup is sitting/glued next to me. n

The cat smacking the dog made me LOL.

AllenM wannabe. You GO girl. Don't forget to sleep. . . . I know you're an excitable boy.
    :runaway: ;)

    Looks really good, T.
GO girl ... excitable boy ... have we stumbled into a gender identification quagmire?

I sure hope this isn't playing into T-DOGG's current work issues. That would really suck.

As to the work on the pistol ... I am so jelly ...

Even with planning one can get stuck with the golden handcuffs a bit.

I know people say do what you love for a job and that's great if you can, but like the Mike Rowe video says, most of us do what pays the bills, so we can do what we love while not at work.

Lotta truth outta Mr. Rowe's mouth. I never considered trucking as a career when I was pre-dentisting my first semester at IU. But bills needed paid after the babies came. Turns out I like the job and after over 3 million safe miles with a couple of bobbles along the way, I do it pretty well. Even advocate for others to try it.

"Well, he went down to dinner in his Sunday best
    Excitable boy, they all said
And he rubbed the pot roast all over his chest
    Excitable boy, they all said
He took in the four a.m. show at the Clark
    Excitable boy, they all said
And he bit the usherette's leg in the dark
    Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy
He took little Suzie to the Junior Prom
    Excitable boy, they all said
And he raped her and killed her, then he took her home
    Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy
After ten long years they let him out of the home
    Excitable boy, they all said
And he dug up her grave and built a cage with her bones

Me again, I wanted to follow up on the 1911 class/get together
I have two possible dates in December. Both on a Saturday, the 9th or 16th.

Can I get a show of hands on who is still interested and what date would work best?
I don't know if 20 people would want to attend but I would need to cap it at 15 - 20 attendees.
I will probably post this in the main forum if more people are needed

I would be interested, and either date is good for me.

If I get invited to the 1911 class, question is, how to convince the Mrs. that I NEED a new (to me) 1911 to take...
    Oh, you're invited.
But better question, how to ask to take a 2011 build kit home from the class.... just throwing that out there... I might have an extra 40/10mm builder up for grabs.

It's my own fault. I have never planned for the future and so here I am miserably stuck in a career I can't financially afford to get out of. I've looked into other avenues, but I'd be going back about 10 years in pay. I'm going to look again, but I'm not optimistic about it.

What about switching careers on top of some gunsmithing once you reach the point you're comfortable doing work for others? Maybe that would be enough to get you to a better place while still being able to support your family and hobbies?
