Changed up my 2011 build with AllenM. After lots of discussion and thinking, decided I'm going with a 10mm build instead of .45acp. I know .45 is an iconic round, but I have never fallen in love with it. Placed an order for a Caspian 5" 10mm slide. It will be a slab slide build with a 5" KKM bull barrel that will be flush with the dustcover of the Cheely 2011 frame. Allen is going to teach me how to fit the frame, slide and barrel together, and then the rest is all on me. Clean slate and I can make the gun my own design. This will be a slow process as the build comes along, something I'm not used to. :)

Wow I'm interested in this. Definitely keep us updated on the progress.
I've been thinking about a long slide 10mm.

Rushing anything could be costly on this one.

I remember when you originally posted about that and I forgot to respond that often 2011’s and .45 don’t work well together, good choice on the change.

Although, when growing up, my grandmother would wake us with the smell of freshly cooked donuts. She fried them in an old dutch oven full of Crisco on top of her electric range. We all had our specific tasks to help ... I got to put the raw dough into the grease and then remove them when properly cooked. It took some time, but I could eventually make them as doughy in the middle as anybody wanted.

But I digress ... back to chopping onions to start caramelizing.
