Im in the same boat. I think I'm needing another battle ready rifle before I get a 1911. Priorities before fun...although ARs are fun too...

I am in the same state of mind. What I have in the safe now are all great examples of what makes me smile.
In that my next big thing is a ground up 2011 build in a totally new to me caliber.
I am sure there will be something pop up along the path but will have to be a real head turner.
    Well.....my head anyway.

In light of the current world situation and the forced influx of "Refugee's" (Ha) I am now feeling the need for at least 1 more AR.

I don't own any long guns so my home defense lineup is made up entirely of handguns. Although I now have a .45 and a .40 my primary HD gun has been my SP01 Phantom. With the winter setting in I have had to reconsider this. In the research I have done I have seen that 9mm might not be the best choice for targets with heavy clothing on. I like the Phantom in the HD role for its capacity and because it has a rail. Having the ability to have a light or light/laser combo on the HD gun is essential, IMO. So, neither my .45 or .40 has a rail and both have somewhat limited capacity compared with the Phantom. So, I brought this up to the Wizard and he reminded me of his P09 in .40. It is polymer like the Phantom, has a rail like the Phantom and has 15 round magazines for the .40. This is only a few less than the Phantom in 9mm. I think colder weather is dictating a re-assessment. It may be time to procure a better cold weather option for home defense.

    I think I need a new gun.

Yep, I know. I am also pretty sure it will be a CZ. ;)

I know this is not the direction you are ready to head in yet, but I squeezed a quick lunch trip in at MCFG to shoot the CZ 1911 and I'm really coming to love that gun. I've decided that I'm happy with the sights, as long as the painted front sight holds the paint. So far, it's been fine for about 600 rounds. Other than that, it just feels good. Everything about that gun makes me smile. It does not have a rail though.

It is most definitely on the list for next year. I was very impressed with yours.

    Morning...:coffee:

I got over to Point Blank yesterday afternoon and did some shooting with a buddy of mine. You'll have to let me know if you want to meet up sometime this week and we can try it out. I'm a member, so we can share a lane and it won't cost you anything for the lane rental, just a $5 fee to watch their safety video and get into their system.

I'd love to get over there this week. No, I should say that I NEED to get over there this week. What works best for you: Lunch or after dinner? I'm working at home most of this week, so a lunch shoot would work for me except on Thursday.

Perhaps tomorrow or Wednesday around 11:00? Either that or after work on Thursday is open (5:00 or 5:30, or later if needed).

I am working towards a 20" AR with a decent barrel/optic. I have friends that beat the steel at 350+ with 16" carbines so a 20" should be more than what my expectations are. Now......where to start.....:)
