I'm really wanting to get another 1911. I know churchmouse doesn't like Sig Sauer 1911's, but I love my TacOps. There's a sale on a carry Scorpion that is very tempting (under $850 for a gun that sells for $100 - $200 more elsewhere). I'm trying my best to wait until BF, but not sure if I can hold out... :(

It is not that I dislike the Sig they are just a spec gun to Sig.

I can live with that, especially since I plan to leave it stock. I might taken AllenM's trigger class sometime and give it some loving, but that's all I would do to it. If it's as accurate as my other 1911's, I'll be very happy with it :)

I think the class is a stellar idea even if you never do anything to the gun beyond that.

Same here... I think oh I can do that. This will be easy. Just need the parts. Then it hits me..... Tools..... But before tools can be bought, more guns and ammo must be bought.... I do the same thing with knives, I tell myself no more until I get something to sharpen the ones I have, never works.... Still no way to sharpen them.

Thats why you have so many..... you use them till they are dull, and instead of buying something to SHARPEN, you have to finish the job, so buy another knife .....

I've now sold all of my knives but one after finding the perfect EDC. I'd rather maintain it than buy something else. DMC diamond stones make short work of turning a dull knife into a razor.

No it wont you big dummy......tools....you have the buy the tools.....:):
Allen provides a suggested tool list along with the Brownell's part numbers. The basic set would run about $300 depending on how you end up going. The optical sear tool takes the guesswork out of cutting the sear.

When I'm not working I've got a Victorinox Swisstool on my belt. Right now edc blade is a Kershaw Skyline. I've got Benchmades, have carried a fixed blade for awhile before, thinking about going that route again. But right now I like this Kershaw. A small Victorinox is always on a key ring.
