I love the look of the Ruger. For a lower end 1911 I think it looks great!
Digging into it right now, I can already tell the quality isn't up there with the springer, but its a carry gun. Should serve me well. hopefully won't have to worry about rust on this one, as I sweat salt water.... I've already got some plans to do a little refinishing, removing some of the laser marks, and possibly sights. Gonna do some grip swapping, the factory woods are some of the coolest looking Rugers I've seen, much lighter than usual, but they aren't going to work for my needs....The metallurgy in the Springer is better than the Ruger.
Mine will be with me for a while. It goes on walks and drives with me a lot.
It is not something anybody would want to be in front of.
The Comp has been Ceracoated and the gun cleaned since the pic.
They are very pretty looking. Should be a good everyday workhorse for me.I love the look of the Ruger. For a lower end 1911 I think it looks great!

These are some of the best looking grips I've seen for the Ruger:

Problem is, I can't stand not having a thumb scoop for a 1911, they just make it a lot easier for me to hit the mag eject without having to shift my grip much.
Those are cool. I agree with the thumb swoop. I'm going to swap over my VZs and pearce grip from my RO for right now until I can decide which VZs I want for it.
That being said I'm slowing way down next year. I'm overly burnt out from buying and selling guns.
I don't drink, but I will have a slightly alcoholic lemonade to that. Congrats to everybody! Cheeseburgers all around!!We have a lot of awesome guns that got purchased to finish the year out. Congrats to everyone I say!!
