Good, so imagine someone took a screenshot of that tweet and posted it on their own feed.

That's how I saw it, and that's where I copied it from. I don't follow Mediaite. The first image in my post is a screenshot of a tweet, once again, irrelevant, seeing as other news outlets have covered it (the words he said on Fox News) as well by now.

So look at my revised version, decide whether or not you find it funny, then move on to another thread to pick nits.

I find your revised version every bit as funny as the original

There y'go, modding me again... Hah.

I remember the last guy that got upset and pointed out posts and told people which threads they should be in. But he was also consistently doing it with more than one person, though, so it's a totally different situation.

So, given it is a joke (now), not General Political/Salma Hayek discussion Thread (Part V), which one of us should move on? I guess I missed the discussion part of the OP

Millenials and their silly (checks notes) notions of fair play. Ha.

As a GenX'r I'm here to remind you both that everything sucks, and it's ALL YOUR FAULT!

Just change Stone to Schiff and president to Pelosi and see if you can understand why this is a yawner

Get back to me when 'justice' is one set of rules for everybody. I could care less if he pardons him. Only those most immersed in the fever dream that making Trump's friends lives hellish enough will get them to turn on him or manufacture evidence against him will applaud this

"That means you do care. At least a little."

One of of these is not the same. Calling a 21 year old girl at a campaign rally a liar and "dog face pony soldier" is in a different category than calling a stripper/hooker extortionist a "horseface". Not even close...

Okay, so we're quibbling over the equality of saying ****ty things about people? Does implying things about Megan Kelly's bloody vagina, because a journalist, bias notwithstanding, dared to criticize the president, make it more equal?

Yes, I can see that the criticism of being mod wannabe is certainly bothering one of us

Was that other guy running a news clipping service on the site?

You know you're defending whataboutism, yes?

"Joe Biden said something mean to a woman"

"Well, Trump says mean things to women, too"

It's about relevance or the lack thereof. Trump isn't attempting to play a woke acolyte of diversity, Biden is

No. I'm not. I'm saying if you want to talk about the equality of offenses, why not pick something more equal? So, okay, maybe the pornstar/stripper/hooker doesn't deserve the same social position of offense taken because of what she does for a living. Alright. Megan Kelly. It's a fair point. But really, my point is that arguing the nuances of which one did it worse is silly. If you have to have that discussion, doesn't it identify both are a problem?

People seem to deride whataboutism but I think whataboutism is certainly a useful tool for exposing hypocrisy.

If it's for exposing hypocrisy, it's not whataboutism. If it's for exposing a flaw in one's argument, it's not whataboutism. If it is to deflect the argument from having to confront the truth about something, that's whataboutism.

ETA: whataboutism is a kind of logical fallacy. It's trying to say that because someone else did the same thing, the thing I (or someone I support) did is therefore dismissed.
