Now, in the purest sense, he actually is right... the term "Anglo-American Law," is rarely used, and often supplanted with "Common Law." Why, in this climate, working for the administration he does, and the perception of that administration held by many... one must ask why did he use the former? The "poorly educated," most certainly will see this at it's basest meaning.

It's a dog whistle! :runaway:

Or, it just means what it means.

Funny enough, the DOJ actually has the text of this speech, as it was to be related.

I want to close by reiterating my deep appreciation and profound thanks to all the women and men of law enforcement – federal, state, local, and tribal. I want to thank every sheriff in America. Since our founding, the independently elected Sheriff has been seen as the people’s protector, who keeps law enforcement close to and amenable to the people. The Sheriff is a critical part of our legal heritage.

Apparently the original speech, as prepared, didn't drive home the point he wanted to make. So he decided, to make some changes.

In celebration of Black History month rather than posting pics of Salma Hayek in this thread I will until the end of February only post pics and videos of Rhiannon Giddens....She is, IMHO, one of America's Great Treasures and has cheek bones so high I could park my '93 F150 in their shade....

Well the investigation the White House will have to try to derail, per Trey Goudy, will be involving the Porter Wife Beater Scandal. Apparently, an investigation was started last night. Once again the White House is playing up how stupid they believe their supporters to be. First they tried to hang Porter's security clearance on the FBI. The director of the FBI proved, the other day, that they were lying.

...and a potential next investigation, again see how far supporters the White House willing to suspend disbelief. The president's lawyer says that he paid pornstar, Stormy Daniels, $130K out of his own pocket, and did so without the knowledge of the president and his staff. Riiiiiight. Well, that might be quite the ethical problem. The lawyer doesn't say why he paid Miss Daniels, but assumedly because of possible claims of carnal knowledge of the president.

Melania? Not been seen.

....And in Florida, another state seat is flipped from Republican to Democrat.
Democrats on Tuesday won yet another special election for a state legislative seat once held by a Republican, this time in a battleground seat south of Tampa, Fla.
With all precincts reporting, attorney Margaret Good (D) took 52 percent of the vote, ousting Sarasota real estate agent James Buchanan (R).

President Trump carried the state legislative district by a 5-point margin in 2016.

LAWD... what is going on with this administration? Some serious charges leveled against VA Secretary David Shulkin... he denies. I thought we were supposed to be draining the swamp?
WASHINGTON — Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin improperly accepted Wimbledon tickets and airfare for his wife during a European trip last summer that ultimately cost taxpayers more than $122,000, according to a VA inspector general report released Wednesday.

His chief of staff, Viveca Wright Simpson, made false representations to a VA ethics lawyer and altered an official email to secure approval for taxpayer funding of Shulkin’s wife’s flights, which cost more than $4,000, the VA inspector general found.

$130K???? That's a sweet deal right there....Little George "Yellow Dog Democrat" Stephanopolous was nearly breathless and orgasmic when he mentioned that story today...He sure thinks you're right.....

"YOU ALL GOING TO LISTEN TO US AND HATE HIM NOW AREN'T YOU???? PLEASE?????? THESE IS HUGE I TELL YOU!!!!! HUGE!!!!!!"

The wife and I were just laughing that the hider of Bimbo Eruptions in the Clinton White House suddenly found a conscious....

$130,000 to quiet a porn star about her dalliances sounds like an amazing deal...I hope he can keep negotiating like that for our country....

Cause it's not about big boobs, it's not about Trump, it's not about the Clinton's and Clinton lackey's and their hypocrisy....

It's about Making America Great Again...I sure hope Miss Daniels reputation isn't sullied over this...I truly do...They ran Lewinsky and the others through the ringer....

More of the same. *yawn* The media spares no effort to find and/or manufacture any outrage or scandal they can drum up. In their defense they expended an equal amount of energy on the last administration. The only difference was that those efforts were to close down any possible story of scandal and ensure proper cover was provided for the anointed one. Again, I am no great fan of Trump but I really hate a completely unlevel playing field and this all stinks to high heaven.
