Before the modern cell phone, we had professional photographers. With cameras embedded in today's phone, everyone thinks they are Ansel Adams (when they bother to take pictures of something other than themselves.)

Similarly, with the development of the internet, so goes whatever level of professionalism that may have existed in prior times with the Fourth Estate.

The difference is that there are still professional photographers.

Yes. They continue to fall for it. But most Trump supporters have a hard time with ethics in any event.

We heard for years that "character doesn't matter" (billyjeffclinton).
The people that said then that "character doesn't matter" NOW demand that "character matters"?

I think you are about half a quart low in memory.

That's not how the democrats reacted including many of the folks who were then campus radicals.

But, perhaps you were confusing "Deficits Don't Matter" with this subject.

There is the law, and then there are "optics". Biden doesn't look good in this situation because sonny boy is working in an Eastern Bloc country for LOTS of money and no previous experience in the field. Trump looks bad because he's soliciting a foreign entity to investigate a US citizen for his personal, political reasons.

In the grand scheme of things, the cumulative weight of all the dirt associated with Trump will tip most independent voters against him.

There are any number of bad actors in history who got to their positions of power and committed atrocities because those who should have acted stood by and watched.

With Trump's personality, there is little doubt that he could be as bad as that, given the opportunity.

Objection, your honor! Nancy Pelosi is leading the witness (to be a *******)

Wonder how much of this Biden corruption will blow back on Obama? Or was Obama just a dumbass that didn't know this was happening under his watch?

Is this why Obama sent out his minions to undermine Biden's run for the presidency, knowing this could come out?

I find your implied paraphrasing interpretation to be a biased embellishment.

    Is it embellishment?

Zelenskyy: I would also like to thank you for your great support in the area of defense. We are ready to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost ready to buy more javelins from the United Staes for defense purposes.

Trump: I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and the Ukraine knows a lot about it.

It not so embellished that the sentiment is not understood. So was the president simply ignoring Zelenskyy or was it a shake down. If one believes that the two statement, which immediately follow one another, are unrelated then one must think the president dismissed or did not hear Zelenskyy. If one thinks the statements follow a trail, then the president is giving a mob shakedown.

So wait, Rudy Guiliani, when asked why he went to the Ukraine rather than someone being sent by the State Department, Rudy said he was going on "behalf of the president."

    Uhhh, that seems problematic

Problematic to you maybe. The Ukrainian President requested Guiliani.
Zelensky then told Trump that he was “hoping very much that Mr. Giuliani will be able to travel to Ukraine and we will meet once he comes to Ukraine.”

Not so fast NNBD. The full sentence is as follows:
will personally tell you that one of my assistants spoke with Mr. Giuliani just recently and we are hoping very much that Mr. Giuliani will be able to travel to Ukraine and we will meet once he comes to Ukraine.

Prior to that point Guiliani's name hadn't come up, so there was obviously contact prior to that point. So it's dubious to believe that the Ukraine "requested" meeting with Rudy. Rudy has been in contact with Ukrainian officials since at least May of this year. Guiliani has lied repeatedly stating that he hadn't, and then had, contact with the Ukraine, that he'd be sent "on behalf of the president," or "at the request of the State Department." He has, to my knowledge, never stated that the Ukraine requested to meet with him, so it's difficult to make head or tails of what exactly is going on with Rudy... other than it seems like he's has some serious issues keeping his stories straight.
