YOU guys are NOT operator enough for T H I S........... (I personally LUV the first 2 minutes)

There is a guy downrange taking photos, but don't worry, they are aiming over his head so it's all good in the hood.

I'm at a loss for words.

    Unnecessary risk: check
Unnecessary Yeager-mimicking shuffle during reload: check
    Unnecessary pirouette: check

I was rewatching Blackhawk Down and thought of this thread where bald-Malfoy tells Delta McTactical (with 3 day growth beard) that his weapon is not on safety, and McTactical responds, "This is my safety."

I don't think the same applies when playing parking lot soccer with loaded firearms.

It makes for good Hollywood, and it's very quotable. It is a common line used to mock someone who has been unsafe in my unit. But it isn't how the big boys roll. I can see one of them saying something like that to an officer from a line unit though, just as a general "&$!@ you." But the guys who wear those beards are really true professionals.

Howard Wasdin said A delta guy did have a ND on base and was promptly sent home from Somalia.

    there's serious competition among trainers

    The Charge of the 300.

o they'll continue to ratchet up the pseudo badassery (a/k/a advertising)

    Tommy (or Timmy) Tactical training.

    until someone gets killed.

People are getting shot and politicians are smacking their lips. Heck, there was even a bill to ban gun training in Texas years ago.

The reason we must come down hard on this foolishness is that we must regulate our own culture or be regulated from without.

We need to show that gun training and proper gun handling etiquette is a good thing. An incident such as this one doesn't cut it.

People would be shocked to know the perfection that is expected of those guys. Hundreds of rounds, day in, day out. And we're not just talking safety, but consequences for B zone hits. But I learned on INGO that guys with beards are reckless.

My apologies. I misread the post and you cleared it up for me.

I know you weren't asking me but in his book, Seal Team Six, memoirs of a seal sniper, he speaks of delta having a ND in the hangar in the airport. The dude got sent home
